**_ POSITION: _**_REGISTERED PRACTICAL NURSE (RPN) _**

Full time & Part time position, 12hr shifts on a rotating schedule

**_ :_**_ As a member of the interprofessional collaborative team, the nurse is responsible for individualized hospice and palliative care that focuses on comfort and quality of life, care planning, assessment & pain and symptom management, and psychosocial care for the resident and their family._

**_ REPORTS TO:_**_ Director of Resident Care (DRC) _

**_DATE REQUIRED:_**_ As soon as possible_

**_ QUALIFICATIONS:_**
- _Current registered member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario_
- _Current BCLS certification_
- _Completion of established palliative care courses such as Core and Advanced Fundamentals, LEAP, CAPCE, _
- preferred, or willingness to enrol._

**_ EXPERIENCE:_**

**_REQUIREMENTS:_**
- _Two Step TB test and Vulnerable Sector Check_

**_ ABILITIES:_**
- _Good communication skills both written and verbal_
- _Ability to meet the physical demands of the position. _
- _Passion for palliative/end-of-life care_
- _Good team player, able to build positive rapport with _
- residents, families, and community partners_
- _An interest in ongoing professional development_
