IT S Operations Supervisor
Working at the District School Board of Niagara (DSBN) means being part of a supportive, innovative community that works towards doing what is best for students, and helping every individual achieve success. The Information Technology Services Department (ITS) is seeking an innovative and energetic professional to work within the Board's complex & continuously evolving computing and data system environment. Reporting to the Manager of Information Technology, the ITS Operations Supervisor will lead, manage and coordinate the work of ITS staff supporting schools and Board sites. This includes overseeing the maintenance, deployment, and support of all computer hardware, software, networking, and technology infrastructure across DSBN. Additionally, the ITS Operations Supervisor will assist in evaluating technology proposals, optimizing technological impacts, identifying efficiencies, and making strategic recommendations for the Board's technology use.

**Responsibilities**:
Manage the day-to-day operations of ITS staff, ensuring reliable technology supports DSBN's learning objectives and business requirements.
Oversee the coordination, prioritization and execution of projects, including assigning tasks, tracking progress, adjusting timelines as needed, and communicating updates to stakeholders.
Work with staff to enhance and implement operational practices and procedures within the department.
Supervise the day-to-day activities of computer technicians and IT staff assigned under direct supervision in compliance with Human Resources policies and procedures, and collective agreements.
Investigate, recommend, and establish training and professional development opportunities relating to technology, legislation, and operational requirements for all direct reports, with the approval of the Manager of Information Technology.
Manage service level agreements with Board approved technology vendors to ensure compliance with licensing, support and maintenance standards.
Direct the evaluation of new technology for integration with the Board system architecture while recommending cost-effective and supportable solutions for new initiatives in both instructional and administrative environments.
Collaborate with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology.
Establish standards and manage quality assurance in the delivery of Information Technology services across the Board.
Establish projections, make strategic recommendations on technology deployment initiatives in short/long term planning.
Administer IT budgets under the direction of the Manager of Information Technology
Manage, create, update and prepare reports, project plans, project and deployment schedules.
Perform other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications and Skills**:
A minimum 3-year CAAT diploma in a technical discipline or combination of post-secondary education and equivalent practical experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in Information Technology or Computer Science related fields.
Strong understanding of hardware, software, networking, and infrastructure in an enterprise environment.
Experience working in a K-12 educational environment is preferred.
Management or supervisor certifications in Information Technology Services is preferred.
Excellent organizational, communication and presentation skills.
Demonstrated abilities in customer service, negotiation, leadership, time management, technical expertise and risk management.
Strong knowledge of hardware, software, networking, infrastructure, operating systems and data security methodologies, with an emphasis on interoperability.
Proven experience managing and coordinating large-scale enterprise projects.
Familiarity with IT operations, helpdesk support, and project management best practices.
**Salary range**: $86,355 - $100,976 including a comprehensive benefit plan. This is a full time, 12-month, based in-person position (35 hour per week). The role is part of DSBN's union-exempt Administrative Management Group.
