**Job Overview**

**Role and Responsibilities**
- Plans, directs and establishes operating activities for production, manufacturing/ procurement operations including production planning, scheduling, resource allocation (equipment and personnel) and materials management
- Drives implementation of new processes/capabilities in support of strategic growth plans with the assistance of the senior leadership team
- Drives efficient flow of materials throughout the Manufacturing facility, with emphasis on cost improvement, cycle time and efficiency opportunities
- Prioritizes production schedules based on customer demand and strategic importance
- Ensures machinery and equipment is operating properly and ability to troubleshoot and fix equipment if needed
- Hires, trains, develops, assigns accountability, builds teams and evaluates the Manufacturing team including taking corrective actions as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy. Consults with Human Resources Department as appropriate
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure the safety and functionality of equipment
- Achieves optimum employee levels with least amount of overhead and raw material costs to meet annual budgetary plan
- Ensures compliance with current federal, provincial and local regulations
- Identifies, recommends and implements changes to improve productivity and reduce cost and scrap, monitors scrap and rework data. Directs the establishment, implementation and maintenance of production standard
- Directs and coordinates various programs essential to manufacturing procedures (e.g., training, safety, housekeeping, cost reduction, worker involvement, security, etc.)
- Assistance with the coordination of major projects (e.g., plant relocation/layout changes, installation of capital equipment, major repairs, etc.)
- Performs miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required
- Emphasis of this position is focused on safety, quality, and meeting production targets
- **Must have Cannabis Security Clearance**

**Education and Experience**
- Post-secondary education required
- Management experience in a manufacturing/production environment
- Experience in a regulated industry such as pharmaceutical or consumer packaged goods is considered an asset and strong understanding of _The Cannabis Act _regulations and previous cannabis regulations such as the ACMPR
- Experience working with pastry, chocolate and/or confectionary
- Experience working with food safety programs such as BRC, SQF, GMP, HACCP, etc.
- Strong written, verbal, and communication skills
- Self-starter with the ability to identify problems and then develop and implement solutions, work independently and prioritize task
- Demonstrated leadership ability, team management and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize and organize a constantly changing workload while maintaining a high level of integrity and accuracy to meet key deadlines
- Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
- High level of interpersonal skills, the ability to work collaboratively, build teams and work within/lead cross functional teams while conducting work with confidentiality and professionalism
- Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing principals/methods and 5S deployment/ sustainability
- Technologically proficient in Microsoft Office and other platforms.

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
