**Project Manager - Training Courseware**

**Program Introduction**

The Canadian Program in question involves CAE as the major Subcontractor to the Aircraft manufacturer prime contractor to the Canadian government for the Training Solution for which CAE’s contribution to provide Training Devices (TDs), Courseware, as well as Training Center operations and staffing, with roles including Instructors and Maintenance technicians and management of said facility based in Comox (BC).

**Role Summary**

Directly reporting to the Program Leader of the Program, the Project Manager (Training Courseware) will be responsible for the overall planning and management of the requirements, budget and schedule associated with the Training Courseware deliverables by CAE under the existing Program and any Additional Work Requests. Additional tasks will include issue, risk and stakeholder management relating specifically to Training Courseware, including management of supplier Courseware deliverables and schedule. Additional technical direction and guidance may be given by the Technical Integration Lead.

**Core Duties and Responsibilities**
- Delivery of a complex Courseware project.
- Preparation Planisware projects relating to the Courseware, including cost profiling, Work Package scheduling and issue/risk management of on-going Courseware, as well as any Additional Work Requests.
- Both internal and external stakeholder management specific to Training Courseware, expected to include routine participation on the Training Development Working Group (TDWG), as well as prime customer governance activities. Proactive management of Action Items arising from stakeholder engagements.
- Routine preparation and delivery of internal project governance activities (e.g., PMR) including monthly financial analysis (support by the Financial Analyst as required).
- Undertake root cause analysis of issues arising specific to Training Courseware and routinely draft mitigation plans for emerging risks specific to Training Courseware.
- Work closely with the Program Leader on issues/risks that require escalation either internally or externally to CAE.
- Be disciplined with respect to Information Management (IM), ensuring that all Information Artefacts (IAs) are carefully Configuration Managed (CM) through life.
- Work with the Program Leader and Contract Manager with contract/scope changes and/or Additional Work Requests (AWRs).

**Qualifications and Educational Requirements**
- Degree in the field of Science/Engineering/Business.
- Minimum of 5 years Project Management experience within CAE, preferably within the field of CAE Training Courseware.
- Eligible for Canadian NATO Secret Security Clearance and Canadian Controlled Goods Clearance.

**Preferred Skills and Competencies**:

- PMP certified (or willing to obtain as part of on boarding).
- Proficiency with Planisware and MS Project.
- Self-motivated and driven by a desire to maximise the efficiency of processes/tools to reduce the management and administrative burden of routine functions. Willingness to experiment with new techniques/approaches intended to improve project efficiency.
- High level of attention to detail.
- An aptitude for analytical thinking and problem solving (i.e., root cause analysis).
- Effective communication (written/verbal) and stakeholder management skills.
- Basic understanding of CAE Financial concepts with respect to managing projects.
- Ability to travel both Domestically and Internationally as required by the Program.
