You will be responsible for prepping, cooking and packaging food items for both the Pizzam Truck
and our Preservatory Provisions brand offered at Preservatory Provisions & Toast Bar on Granville
Island. All prep will be done in our commercial commissary kitchen located at Vista D’oro Winery
in South Langley. This role offers the unique opportunity to experience both operating a food truck
as well as food prep and packaging in our commercial kitchen, working under the guidance of
Chef/Owner of Lee Murphy. We are a small tight-knit group of people who are all passionate about
local products and delicious food.
This part-time role requires approximately 16-20 hours a week. Fridays will be devoted to prep and
packaging in commercial kitchen on the property, and weekends (weather dependent) will be
cooking and service on the Pizzam Food Truck at Vista D’oro Farms & Winery. The opportunity to
grow the position into full time as we expand our offerings, makes this an excellent position for
someone with a love of local and a culinary background.

**Responsibilities & Qualifications**:

- Prep for and cooking on the Pizzam food truck weekends throughout the

summer/fall while assisting winery staff in offering guests a unique Vista D’oro

Experience
- Prep, package, and monitor inventory of products for the Provisions brand
- Maintain a clean commercial kitchen and workspace on the truck
- Ensure Food Safety Plan is followed at all times and that food safety is prioritized
- Coordinate with Managers on purchasing and communicate any maintenance issues
- From time to time there may be a need to move products from one location to

another
- Work with tasting room staff to ensure a high level of quality with food offerings,

quantity based on service needs, and support during tasting room service

Experience | Skill Requirements
- Food safe and serving it right certifications required
- Culinary diploma a strong asset
- Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Ability to lift 40lbs and to be on your feet for long periods of time
- An interest in local food, and local products
- Strong food costing skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience cooking in a commercial kitchen is preferred
- Must have superior customer service skills, and be able to give our guests a great

experience
- Must have a driver’s license, and be able to get to and from the farm with own

vehicle
