Janitor / Handyman

The Salvation Army Sunset Lodge -LTC facility is currently seeking a Janitor / Handyman to join the Services Department for our 108-bed complex care facility.

The Janitor / Handyman performs a variety of custodial duties and minor maintenance repairs necessary to keep the facility in a clean and orderly condition which contributes to efficient daily operations.

**CHARACTERISTIC JOB DUTIES**:
The incumbent is responsible for the following range of job duties characteristic, or typical of the job class:

- Vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, stripping, and waxing flooring
- Clean and sanitize public and staff bathrooms, Clean sinks, countertops, microwaves, and refrigerators in break rooms, restock supplies in bathrooms, break rooms, and common areas
- Empty all trash cans and replace liners, clean receptacles as necessary, Empty all recycle bins and separate them into appropriate bins
- Maintain janitorial area in a clean, organized, and safe manner, ability to function and maintain janitorial equipment in a clean, safe, and operable condition
- Proper labeling, dilution, and use of all chemicals
- Remove snow from sidewalks and spread snow melting chemicals
- Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and meetings, Hang paintings and photos
- Receives delivery and re-stocks housekeeping and nursing storage areas with supplies, Records and notifies FSM of depleting supplies

NOTE: Not all incumbents perform all of the duties described above but perform a similar range of duties.
