We are currently looking for a Operations and Maintenance Worker to join our team of committed professionals. This full-time contract position within the Association is housed at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario’s John Island Camp location in Spanish, Ontario. Under the direction of the Operations & Site Manager, the Operations & Maintenance Worker assists with cleaning of the facility areas and maintenance shop. This position is responsible for completing basic repairs, maintaining cleanliness of all camp vehicles including watercrafts when in use, and ensuring removal of garbage and recycling from the site. The Operations & Maintenance Worker will be trained in basic generator maintenance. When driving, the Operations & Maintenance Worker is responsible for safely transporting campers and camp staff to and from John Island Camp as well as all other camp transportation requirements.

**START DATE**: May 6, 2024 - September 2, 2024
**LOCATION**: Spanish, ON
**RATE OF PAY**: TBD
**HOURS**: 40 per week

Major Responsibilities
- Comply with transportation regulations
- Daily cleaning and maintenance of camp facilities
- Assist in other areas of camp and provide support during Family Camp
- Adhere to YMCA and John Island Camp policies, procedures and guidelines
- Other duties as assigned by the association

**Qualifications**:

- Possession of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) considered an asset
- Valid G Class or equivalent drivers license Experience in basic maintenance and cleaning
- Experience driving long distances on Northern highways
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR C
- Excellent communication skills
- Organizational and time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- WHMIS Certification
- Current and satisfactory Police Record with Vulnerable Sector Check
