We are looking for a Benefits professional who loves people, systems and processes for our Benefits team in Toronto. This is a key role that handles a wide range of benefits administration responsibilities and is the primary point of contact for support and guidance to Doane Grant Thornton colleagues across Canada.

**As a Specialist, Benefits your responsibilities will include**:

- Manage full-cycle benefits administration (including retirement/savings plans) processes, including liaison with third-party service providers, review and approval of benefit workflows in Workday, manage benefit exceptions and EOI processes, executive health assessments, and maintain benefits records and policies
- Assist with setting up and running the annual benefits re-enrollment process
- Assist with the benefits billing and reconciliation process including invoice creation and carrier reporting
- Responsible various leave programs (maternity/parental, compassionate care, personal, etc.)
- Assist with and provide back-up coverage for short
- and long-term disability management and workers compensation claims and trends analyses
- Interpret and ensure compliance with firm policies and applicable legislation and provide sound guidance on benefit inquiries from internal and external clients, and keep updated on current legislation, trends and best practices
- Assist with the maintenance and testing of Workday and other systems, assist with updating the employee benefits, programs and policies intranet site, and with benefits and wellness initiatives
- Contribute to the optimization and enhancement of benefits-related systems and tools
- Participate in special and ad-hoc projects

**Think you’ve got what it takes to be a Specialist, Benefits? Like the colour purple? Great. Here's a few more boxes we’re also hoping you can tick**:

- Undergrad degree or diploma. A benefits-related designation (e.g., CEBS/GBA) is an asset
- At least 2 years of experience in benefits administration, particularly with self-administered plans and ideally supplemented by experience in other HR administration areas
- Robust analytical and problem-solving skills, with intermediate proficiency in Excel
- Strong knowledge of HRIS systems (particularly Workday) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide sound guidance to all client groups, along with a high degree of confidentiality and tact
- Experience in running benefit presentations will be an asset
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, both independently and as part of a team
- Intermediate knowledge of Canadian employment legislation
- In-office presence is required for at least 4 days a week to support our culture, build relationships, and foster growth opportunities
