UCSH is looking for a full time **Welding Foreman/woman** position. This is an on-site position in our Port Coquitlam location.

**WHAT’S THE JOB ABOUT?**

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Welding Foreperson position is responsible to support the Production Manager to ensure the frame production run efficiently and effectively.

Some of the work you will do, but not limited to:

- Working together with Production Manager to ensure the efficient handling of material through production
- Assisting the Production Manager with the implementation of objectives and initiatives to ensure the efficient flow of material through the production process
- Collaborate and provide support for Project Management as well as other departments as part of maintaining a standard for customer service
- Read and understand blueprints prior to starting a project
- Sourcing and measuring the materials to be used in the project
- Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of welders.
- Provide guidance, direction, and support to team members, promoting a positive work environment and encouraging teamwork.
- Plan and organize daily operations, including work schedules, tasks, and assignments to maximize efficiency and meet production targets/ timelines.
- Oversee workflow to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner while maintaining high quality standards.
- Allocate resources effectively to optimize productivity and mitigate downtime.
- Identify training needs for shop employees and facilitate skill development within the shop, and collaborate with management.
- Recognize process inefficiencies and areas for improvement with the shop, and work with management to execute solutions on improving processes.
- Other duties as assigned

**WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE LIKE YOU WHO HAS**:

- College or university graduate or equivalent working experience
- Minimum 3 years of welding experience
- Experience in mentoring and/or coaching employees in a fast paced environment
- Experience working with frames and doors
- Strong communication skills - both verbal and written
- Strong problem solving skills
- Strong computer skills and tech savvy
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time management skills

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $32.00-$36.00 per hour
