**Recochem Canada** - a producer, formulator, contract packager and wholesale distributor of chemical products in the automotive/heavy duty, household and hardware markets, from six strategically located manufacturing facilities throughout Canada.

**What you will do**:

- Coordinate all activities associated to procurement of materials and supplies for the company. Including the sourcing researching and evaluating of suppliers, based on price, quality, selection, service, and support.
- Review reports generated by MRP and action all items required for supply replenishment.
- Work with operations to ensure materials are released based on scheduled production requirements and MRP recommendations.
- Expedite all orders to ensure on time delivery.
- Conduct supplier reviews to ensure adherence to ISO standards.
- Interact with other divisions within portfolio companies on various procurement projects as requested by managing directors.
- Become an expert relative to category ownership within portfolio companies and provide market intel and analysis associated with said category.
- Participate in cross functional duties as required.
- Adhere to established contract agreements with suppliers and release materials based on locations needs in accordance with master agreements.
- Review MRP planning and recommendations with other system tools, rationally and make a reasoned judgment based on your analysis.
- Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities and the suppliers reputation and history.
- Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals and review requisitions for goods and services for goods not under contract.
- Purchase the highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible price and in correct amounts.
- Analyze price proposals, financial reports and other data and information to determine reasonable prices.
- Monitor and follow applicable laws and regulations.
- Monitor shipments to ensure that goods come in on time, and in the event of problems trace shipments and follow up undelivered goods.
- Confer with staff, users, and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or service and determine corrective action.
- Evaluate and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and to determine need for changes.
- Coordinate for ordering, releasing and expediting of batching chemicals and packaging components.
- Review and coordinate with P2P originators as requested by managing director.
- Assist divisional personnel, in a procurement role, with CAPEX RFQ’s.
- Maintain contract pricing in ERP system.
- Review all raw materials and ensure revised information is updated in real time in the ERP system as it relates to lead times, extended descriptions and pricing etc.
- Manage the ordering and releasing of bulk materials.
- Responsible for any supplier based QA issues and address within the Non Conformance process and policy.
- Review railcar status as it is relevant to the schedule.
- Attend production meetings and participate by representing the purchasing dept.
- Coordinating the inbound Logistics with the guidance of our Logistics Team.
- Assisting the customs broker for deliveries from overseas and across the Americas.
- Buyers in other locations as and when required.

**What you will need**:

- College Diploma in business or purchasing or equivalent years of experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven record in procurement negotiations.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to produce written concise and detailed reports.
- Able to establish and maintain good customer relations with both internal and external customers.
- High level of attention to detail and strong ability to problem resolution.
- Good understanding of technical drawings and designs for raw materials.
- Strong background and record of negotiations.
- Full understanding of purchasing procedures, policies as well as contract and terms & conditions language.
- The ability to engage in reflective and independent thinking.
- Full understanding of MS Office programs including Word and Excel.
- Excellent working knowledge of various ERP such as Infor XA
- To easily interact with members of a local team and with members from the Recochem portfolio of companies within the Americas.
