We are looking for a motivated **Early Childhood Educator (ECE) **to join our Community Action Program for Children (CAPC) team

**POSITION FUNCTION**:

- Under the supervision of the Manager and the support from the CAPC Facilitator, the Early Childhood Educator (ECE) provides childcare and educational activities for children ages up to 6 years who attend the group sessions of CAPC program.

**KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Be familiar with MOSAIC’S vision, mission, values, strategic plan, integrated client service delivery approach, your role in achieving the goals, and contractual outcomes of the Community Action Program for Children (CAPC).
- Facilitates in-person group-based parent-child activities on Tuesdays for Vietnamese-speaking and Korean-speaking CAPC groups, three series a year from September to June.
- Fosters an inclusive and supportive environment for newcomer families and young children.
- Maintains knowledge of the unique needs of program participants and related activities/services.
- Works closely with other team members, such as the Family Support Worker group facilitators and assistant early childhood educators.
- Other duties of the role are as assigned by the program manager.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Valid Early Childhood Education Certificate or equivalent.
- Valid Emergency Child Care and First Aid Certificate.
- Have experience (one or more years) in group early childhood education and care programs.
- Emotional maturity and sensitivity to the needs and interests of children, parents and families from diverse communities who face multiple barriers of immigrant/refugee, settlement and integration issues.
- Knowledge and awareness of the developmental needs of children.
- Good oral and written communication skills in English and an additional language in Korean or Vietnamese are an asset**.**:

- Have a strong willingness to learn.
- Culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, tactful, patient, and flexible.
- Organized and able to set priorities, meet deadlines and have problem-solving skills.
- Ability to set and maintain boundaries with clients and manage self-care.
- Ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Current, satisfactory Criminal Record Check.

**HOURS**:7** Hours/week, 28 Weeks**/**year
- Subject to lay off periods.**
