Overview:
We are currently looking for an experienced Carpenter to join our growing business here in Halifax. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Carpenter to join our team. As a Lead Carpenter, you will be responsible for overseeing and executing various carpentry projects, including restoration, roofing, building, and more. This is a hands-on role that requires expertise in carpentry techniques and the ability to lead a team effectively.

**Responsibilities**:

- Coordinate and supervise construction projects from start to finish
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents
- Installing wooden structures such as framing, joists, partitions, and stud work
- Installation of cabinets, shelves, drywall and insulation
- Adding fittings and fixtures including door handles, hinges, locks and closures
- Understanding the design and installation of decks and fences as well as basic form work
- Repair and restore damaged structures or fixtures
- Collaborate with other tradespeople to ensure project completion
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and guidelines
- Train and mentor junior carpenters

**Experience**:

- Proven experience as a Lead Carpenter or similar role
- In-depth knowledge of carpentry techniques and tools
- Proficient in using power tools and hand tools
- Strong understanding of building codes and regulations
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents
- Experience with electrical work is a plus
- Familiarity with masonry work is an advantage
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required

**Requirements**:

- Must have basic tools (belt, hammer, level) and PPE (steel-toed boots)
- 2 years experience is required
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation is required

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $22.99-$39.99 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 45 per week
