**Title: QC Technician**

**Job description**

**Job Requirements**

**Duties and responsibilities**
- Visually inspects storage areas to ensure that ingredients are in the correct storage location and allergens are stored in respective areas
- Ensure good manufacturing practices (GMPs) and proper housekeeping are being followed throughout the plant
- Conduct Operational inspections and assist in follow-up investigations pertaining to non-compliance issues as needed with production and packaging lead hands and management
- Ensure check weigh system is working and weights are within specification
- Conduct daily online checks to ensure compliance to specification of in-process and finished product
- Verify the correct ingredients, labels and packaging materials are being used for the production of each product at the start of shift and ongoing throughout production
- Monitor that only labels needed for packaging are present on the assembly and packaging lines
- Take appropriate corrective action when product fails to meet the required specifications - ingredients, packaging materials and finished products.
- Participate in scheduled GMP, sanitation and safety audits throughout the production departments and identify deficiencies to be corrected
- Follow-up on corrective actions for completion
- Ensures allergens are being managed appropriately to prevent cross contamination.
- Provides support to HACCP Coordinator during program implementation and updates
- Be part of multiple Projects including licensing and certifications programs, implement new processes and systems
- Be trained to for assigned job functions at the plant as a reliever when other team members are off

**Quality and Food Safety Responsibilities**:

- Conducts ongoing internal inspections to ensure GMPs and food safety guidelines are continuously followed at plant level
- Responsible for assisting in investigation of all customer/consumer complaints involving technical, food safety or quality issues
- Communicates issues impacting on food safety and quality to management, and halts production if on-site conditions are deemed unsafe for product
- Collects the laboratory samples following External Lab Testing Schedule and coordinates timely sample pick up
- Provides support and helps conduct shelf-life validation
- Responsible for ongoing verification of effectiveness of sanitation through ATP swabs - Performs CCP verification (acidification, cooking) and ensures deviation procedures are correctly implemented

**Qualifications**:

- University/college degree in a related field
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail oriented individual with excellent problem solving and trouble shooting abilities
- Good organizational skills and ability to problem solve
- Good computer skills

- Monday to Friday, except for projects and special tasks occasionally

**Salary**: From $25.00 per hour
