Looking for a Summer Early Childhood Assistant for EarlyON Child and Family Program.
- **As this position has been made possible by the Canada Summer Jobs Program through the Government of Canada all applicants MUST meet the following conditions**:_
- **Be between the ages of 15-30 years at the start of employment.**:

- **Be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment**:

- **Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of Employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.**

**Description of work tasks and responsibilities**:
The ECA will support and assist the team by:

- Maintaining a healthy and safe environment
- Interact and socialize with the children in a play setting
- Provide activities and opportunities that encourage curiosity, exploration and creativity for children 0-6 years
- Include materials and experiences that are culturally appropriate and represent diversity
- Conduct and assist in story and songs
- Be able to support and guide children with their social and emotional development
- Be able to communicate with the children and parents on a daily basis with sensitivity and respect

**Qualifications**:

- ECE or ECA preferred
- Experience in a Family Resource Program (an asset)
- Experience working in a child care environment
- Experience with children aged 0-6
- A second language would be an asset

**Skills and Credentials**:

- Able to teach in an Early Learning environment
- Strong skills working with families & children
- Must be able to work as a team
- Trained in CPR/First Aid

EXPECTED Start Date is June 19th 2023- End date August 11th 2023

Salary $15.50 per hour
