**Job Summary**
In this position, you will use your technical knowledge and skills to repair and maintain clinical medical equipment and be the primary reference source for clinical staff in the operation of clinical equipment. The clinical equipment is maintained to the standard and recommendations of CSA, AAMI, and the Original Equipment Manufacturer. As a full-time employee, you will be eligible to participate in Southlake’s benefit program (Extended Health and Dental benefits). In addition as a Full Time employee you will be enrolled our pension plan.
**Qualifications**
- Successful completion of an advanced diploma from an accredited College in Electronics Engineering Technology and Biomedical Engineering Technology
- 2 years’ experience working in a biomedical department
- Must have working knowledge/training of electronics with the ability to understand the operation and have manual skills required to repair, calibrate, perform safety, performance routine inspections on electronic, electrical, mechanical and optical equipment, devices, systems and instruments
- Demonstrated leadership, decision-making skills and time management,
- Good knowledge of computers including Computerized Maintenance Management System, Microsoft Office and Windows
- Demonstrates excellence in communication of the English Language, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and work with mínimal supervision
- Innovative and willing to learn
- Commitment to customer service and teamwork
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs)
- Ability to work independently or as a member of a team in a fast pace environment

**Primary Responsibilities**
- Services, installs, repairs all medical equipment safely and promptly
- Performs incoming inspections and testing on all new equipment and newly arrived equipment that has been serviced outside the hospital
- Performs Preventive Maintenance on medical equipment
- Carries out and completes corrective actions required by Device Hazard Alerts and Recalls
- Maintains service records of all equipment
- Orders parts and supplies as required in maintaining inventory
- Maintains competence by participating in hospital education, departmental equipment training, and manufacturer’s training courses
- Provides technical information at the point of care to clinical, paramedical and technical staff regarding safety, operation, maintenance, procurement, installation and disposal of biomedical equipment
- Works with other Biomedical Engineering Technologists and Hospital staff to ensure a safe environment for staff, visitors and patients
- Travel between different sites will be required. After hours and/or on-call service as required
- Knowledge of IT networks is preferred
- Experienced with Anesthesia and Ventilator preferred
- Knowledge working with surgical equipment including Cardiovascular preferred
