Peter Lucas Project Management is seeking a Safety Specialist to join our dynamic team in Ontario. The Safety Specialist is responsible for:

- ensuring construction activities comply with the safety, health, environment and quality (SHEQ) requirements and monitors daily activities to identify hazardous conditions and implementation of safe work procedures
- working closely with construction management team (CMT) and contractors
- ensuring all safety, health and environmental procedures and work instructions are followed
- conducting workplace inspections with CMT, focusing on behavioural observations
- reviewing field level risk assessments (FLRAs) and daily contact cards for quality adherence
- conducting and monitoring SHEQ related training for construction management team (CMT) personnel and contractors and assess qualifications of construction contractor personnel as needed
- participating in job hazard assessments, safety meetings, toolbox meetings, constructability reviews, and project kick-off meetings, upon request
- conducting daily and weekly job site inspections as per procedure
- identifying and reviewing various health and safety concerns specific to the work site
- investigating injuries, accidents and near misses as per site corrective action processes
- ensuring timely notification occurs of significant events
- monitoring quality of incident investigations and ensures effective and appropriate corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner

**Salary**: Open to wage negotiations based on experience and qualifications.
