Reporting to the Senior Logistics Coordinator, the Logistics Coordinator works closely with field supervisors, drivers, catching crews, customers, and other stakeholders to create schedules to fulfill Riverdale’s work.

This role is part of a high-performance team and involves creating/maintaining schedules, managing issues that occur in the field, ensuring the integrity of data in our dispatch software, and ongoing communication with various parties. The logistics department is the nerve center of Riverdale’s business and you will play an important role in helping the company’s operations run smoothly and efficiently.

**Working Hours**:

- Night Shift: Sunday to Thursday 11 PM to 7 AM
- During the first 4-6 months of employment rotation between day, afternoon, and night shifts will be required for training.
- Day Shift: Monday to Friday 8 AM to 4 PM
- Afternoon shift: Sunday to Thursday 4 PM to 12 AM
- Occasional overtime or changes in working hours may be required

**Load scheduling and planning**:

- We have over 80 drivers and deliver anywhere from 50 to 120 loads per night
- We have a fleet of 300+ including trucks, trailers, catching vans, and loading equipment
- We have 7 different yards/terminals that our drivers are dispatched from, spanning from Brampton to Hanover, ON
- We work with over 1200 different farms

**First point of contact**:

- Continuously communicating with drivers, foremen, customers, and other parties to resolve issues that occur during transport
- Identifying and planning maintenance and ad-hoc repairs for equipment as needed. We have 2 full-service shops with a team of day and afternoon shift technicians.

**Managing daily communications and reports**:

- Ensuring load communications and reports accurately reflect all events that occurred throughout the night, and that supporting tables/data are kept updated
- Identifying and communicating high-risk issues and open/pending tasks in a timely manner to the operations and leadership departments

**What you bring to the role**:

- Impeccable analytical and organizational skills
- The ability to stay calm under pressure and find solutions to time-sensitive problems
- Superb attention to detail
- A minimum typing speed of 40 WPM
- Advanced communication and listening skills with the ability to interpret and convey ideas/concepts clearly and concisely (both written and verbal)
- Experience with telephone, text-to-phone, and VOIP systems
- Able to monitor progress and stay on task in fast-paced, constantly changing environments
- Prior transportation or poultry experience is an asset but not required
- Experience with GPS tracking software is an asset but not required
- A college or university education is an asset but not required
