**Working for the Department**

The Centre for Criminological Research works to understand criminal justice institutions and systems through the perspectives of both those who work in them and those who encounter them, particularly those marginalized by factors related to race, gender, social class, addictions, and the like, placing those encounters within broader social contexts and challenges.

**Position**

**Duties**
- Provide administrative support for the team (e.g. website management, maintain a filing system, coordinate petty cash, organize meetings, including preparing minutes and agendas).
- Coordinate data collection for longitudinal study, coordinate follow-up interviews and surveys, perform data entry and analysis, and data cleaning.
- Collaborate with all team members, faculty, staff, students and research participants and liaises with external partners and collaborators as required.
- Develop and maintains databases as required.
- Draft manuscripts, reports, and public documents.
- Produce and maintains knowledge translation, communication materials, and conference materials (i.e., abstracts, workshops).
- Participate in setting and maintaining deadlines and timelines (i.e. for preparing reports and publications, conference material submissions, etc.).

**Minimum Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, Google Suite, experience with Zoom and webinars).
- Project management experience.
- Working knowledge of Managing Budgets.
- Experience working with vulnerable populations (including diverse background, justice system with substance abuse issues, and mental health issues).
- Proven ability to work effectively with volunteers and/or study participants.
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational, time management and independent work initiative.
- Excellent attention to detail and diligence.
- Ability to liaise effectively with a variety of internal and external research stakeholders.
- Ability to work efficiently and in a professional and ethical manner.
- Ability to work independently as well as with others on a team.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and timelines.

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Master’s degree
- 1-3 years previous research and research administrative experience
- Experience with a broad range of research methods
- Experience with longitudinal data collection
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software, R or SPSS, and Qualtrics
- Knowledge of the University of Alberta’s administrative systems would be beneficial
