**Carpenter Helper**

Hickory Dickory Decks Kitchener is looking for a full-time experienced Junior Carpenter to join our team. You will be reporting directly to the Crew Leader on job sites. We are a growing company with lots of opportunity for advancement. Full-time year round work is available

**Salary**:$20-$22/hr, dependent on experience

**Responsibilities**
- Assist in tearing down and building decks, fences, pergolas, pool houses, gazebos etc.
- Perform a variety of tasks including manual and physical labour
- Provide support to Crew Leader through various hands on construction and site tasks
- Safely and efficiently use various hand and power tools
- Compliance with company health and safety training and reporting requirements
- Required to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
- Responsible for own transportation to and from job sites
- Responsible for basic personal hand tools (tool belt)
- Responsible to provide own CSA approved work boots
- Other duties will be assigned as required

**Desired Skills and Experience**
- Previous carpentry experience is preferred
- Ability to skillfully use hand and power woodworking tools
- Ability to read and interpret drawings for each job
- Must understand measuring tools (in imperial units)
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs
- Strong attention to detail with precise measuring and cutting skills
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions
- Must be safety conscious
- Excellent team player
- Great communication skills
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Must be enthusiastic and willing to learn
- Must be punctual and personable
- Must obtain WHMIS, Working at Heights and Occupational Health and Safety Awareness training

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
