Press Shop Operator

Brockville, Canada Canarm LTD Full time

Sets up and operates machinery or tools including punch presses, drill presses, hydraulic presses, grinders, saws and other machines to construct metal parts. Sets up and operates C.N.C. machines, involving punching, cutting, and forming operations performed on C.N.C. equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Uses measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications.
- Utilizes knowledge of shop mathematics, charts and tables. Uses standard bolts, screws, threads and tapers, etc. to efficiently plan work.
- Works from factory work orders, drawings, written or verbal instructions.
- Notifies supervisor of shop and tooling requirements.
- Operates C.N.C machines as assigned and may be required to operate more than one machine simultaneously.
- Works to required tolerances and is responsible for quality of work produced.
- Follows preventative maintenance procedures as outlined by machine manufacture or supervisors.
- May be required to assist in machine repair.
- Keeps machine and work area clean, lubricated and orderly.
- Performs other duties as assigned utilizing normal skill and ability of the current position.
- Remains aware and follows all health and safety practices. Works in a safe fashion and reports any concerns to supervisor.

**Requirements**:

- Successful completion of secondary school diploma
- Ability to work 40 hours/week, rotating shifts
- Ability to stand for long periods of time including bending, twisting, and walking
- Excellent communication skills and positive attitude
- Commitment to quality
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment with mínimal supervision
- Excellent time management and high attention to detail
- Ability to be flexible, open, and responsive to ongoing changes

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $21.00-$26.74 per hour
