Position Summary
Project Manager, Program Mgmt-Surgery
Your goal in this position is to support the development and the implementation of a major strategic health care initiative for the new Regional Arthroplasty Program at the Holland Orthopaedic and Arthritic Centre in collaboration with Sunnybrook and Michael Garron Hospitals. The work will include developing an integrated model of care, including care teams across the hospitals and community organizations. Your role as a Project Manager will include providing leadership and direction in the development, implementation and evaluation of the Regional Arthroplasty project, with an important focus on both knowledge management and relationship management. This will be done in collaboration of the broader project with the hospital partners. You will be leading, organizing and facilitating project-related meetings, developing project reports and maintaining project plans, presentations, statistics and other related documents, as required. You have project management skills, with extensive knowledge of project management principles and tools, impact analysis and change management. You have the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders and project leads to escalate issues and manage risks. You have strong engagement and negotiation skills required to participate on projects with colleagues across the partners and other essential organizations, as well as advanced negotiation and conflict resolution skills to ensure positive outcomes for quality client service delivery. You also have excellent communication, documentation and interpersonal skills to function within a complex interdisciplinary environment and demonstrated adaptability to different organizational cultures.
This position supports the hospital’s academic mandate by advancing care through teaching and learning and/or transforming care through research and innovation. This position contributes to the shared responsibility of ensuring health and safety policies are followed to provide for a healthy environment for patients, staff, physicians, volunteers and families.
On a practical level, you will

Lead the planning and manage the implementation of the Regional Arthroplasty Program in concert with partner organizations.

Develop all project management related materials, including project charter, work breakdown structures, Key Performance Indicators, milestone maps, status reports, etc. in collaboration with partners

Excellent ability to multitask and coordinate a large, complex project spanning numerous programs and departments both internal and external.

Establish the local hospital governance, including development of all committees and working groups.

Lead, organize and facilitate project-related meetings, develop project reports, presentations, statistics and other related documents, as required.

Build and maintain relationships with all project stakeholders and provide effective communication; both written and verbal.

Proactively identify project risks and recommend solutions and mitigation strategies.

Continuously evaluate and assess each project milestone closely to identify lessons learned and best practices for implementation in future phases.

Ensure project deliverables are met on time, within budget and within scope.

Develop and implement any required project management tools for the local and regional committee members.

During critical times of project implementation, may be required to work off-hours and/or non-business hours

Mentor and coach team members on project management principles

**Qualifications**:
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or in a health-related field or an equivalent mix of education and work experience.

A Master’s degree in health or business administration preferred

Professional designation in project management

A minimum of three (3) years recent, related experience in project management, implementing quality improvement strategies and change management across the healthcare sector
