**Your Opportunity**:
As a Therapy Assistant you will perform safe and effective patient treatment interventions for individuals under the direction of the Physiotherapist in an Outpatient setting. You may be involved in assisting in various interventions including exercise and mobility programs, provision of mobility aids, ADL training, therapeutic transfers, equipment maintenance and inspection. Other duties include scheduling appointments, equipment ordering and provision, inventory cleaning and maintenance, ordering supplies, and preparing treatment areas. Additionally, there may be opportunity to work under the direction of a Registered Respiratory Therapist to deliver group exercise programming to respiratory clients. This position is located at the Ponoka Hospital and Care Centre - In the heart of Central Alberta. Downtown Ponoka is located only 3 minutes off of the Queen Elizabeth II Highway between Red Deer and Edmonton. With approximately 6800 local residents. **Description**:
As a Therapy Assistant, you will work both individually and as part of an interprofessional team under the assignment, monitoring and evaluation of an audiologist, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, recreation therapist or speech-language pathologist. You will contribute to effective and efficient rehabilitation services including direct and indirect client care across the health care continuum (healthy living, getting better, living with illness and disability, end of life care) for all ages as well as non-client service provision. This role will require you to work effectively with internal and external partners, and display professionalism and strong ethics in both client centered care and participation in care teams. You will demonstrate evidence of reflective thinking and lifelong learning that enhances individual and team competency. You will have opportunities to use your interpersonal and clinical skills in contributing to quality improvement, program planning and student supervision.

**Required Qualifications**:
Completion of diploma from an accredited post-secondary rehabilitation Therapy Assistant program or equivalent training may be considered.

**Additional Required Qualifications**:
Diploma from an approved post-secondary rehabilitation Therapy Assistant program that includes Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Recreational Therapy. Equivalent related training may be considered. Heart & Stroke: Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).
