The Southridge Shelter is a 55 bed co-ed housing focused shelter striving to provide service with excellence and dignity while meeting the practical needs of an individual experiencing homelessness. The Shelter operates 24/7.

This position is a permanent position with a fixed schedule and will include some on-call problem solving in accordance with our internal policy. The responsibilities for the position include:
**General Responsibilities**:

- **Maintenance**
- Undertake facility projects and improvements
- Actively respond to emergency repairs and general upkeep
- Establish preventative maintenance schedules, where applicable
- Perform regular facility inspections and keep clear documentation
- **Cleaning**
- Ensure the Shelter facility, including the dorm spaces, washrooms, common room and front lobby are cleaned on a daily basis.
- Ensure staff offices and meeting spaces including the Coaching, Housing, Community Life & Executive Directors offices and the board room and clinic spaces are cleaned and maintained with weekly garbage removal and vacuuming.
- **Grounds**
- Maintenance and snow removal & de-icing (parking lots and sidewalks)
- Weekly walk arounds the St Catharines property for sharps and other drug paraphernalia or dangerous items
- Including but not limited to front ravine area, ramp along the side, near garbage bins, and other hidden areas
- Weekly walk around to remove any debris and large garbage items improperly disposed of on the premises
- **Bookings & Rentals**
- Assist with planning, coordination, and facility set up to support Homelessness Services meetings & events
- **Administration**
- Manage facility schedules and inventories related to facility management
- Actively participate in and contribute to bi-monthly Shelter Team meetings, staff meetings, and staff retreats as required

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $22.35-$24.35 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
