**Summary of responsibilities**:

Provide direct patient care, within the paramedicine scope of practice. Bolster the staffing of regulated care providers in the in-hospital Emergency Department setting. Work in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team to provide safe, ethical, competent care.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Patient Care
- Patient Monitoring
- IV Insertion and Maintenance
- Working in Collaboration within the care team in the Emergency Department
- Use the Paramedic Scope of Practice and Standards of care to provide care/interventions
- Perform and Interpret ECGs
- Specific Medication Administration

**Requirements of the job**:

- 2-year diploma from an accredited paramedic program.
- Successful completion of the Advanced Emergency Medical Care Assistant (A-EMCA) examination
- 3-5 years of experience as a paramedic, preferred.
- Current BLS.
- Maintain Required Continuing Education.
- Autonomous IV Certification.
- Physical ability to lift, pull, push, and transferring patients.
