**About Us**:
Western Engineering Outreach is an organization run by Western Engineering which strives to increase the awareness of and cultivate interest in engineering and technology in young peoples through interactive and innovative programs in London, Ontario and the surrounding communities. Western Engineering Outreach offers exciting programs for elementary and high school students, as well as partnering with community organizations to reach as many aspiring minds as possible. These programs aim to inspire and empower students with engineering skills.

**Responsibilities**:
**Responsibilities**:
This position requires the incumbent to supports the community programs of Western Engineering Outreach by delivering programming to youth in grades SK - 12 in the London & Middlesex Community. Western Engineering Outreach provides a pathway for youth to experience Western Engineering firsthand and start their journey to potentially becoming future students at Western University. Additionally through these outreach programs Western Engineering is able to support programs for underrepresented youth (Indigenous students and students of colour, female, low socio-economic status) who otherwise would not have access.
This position may require delivery of programs in the evening and weekends.
**Key responsibilities for this position will include**:
- Delivering presentations and programming to youth in grades SK-12
- Testing programming prior to delivery
- Prepping materials for programming
- Provide training on technology and outreach activities/workshops to incoming Outreach staff and volunteers
- Coordinate logistics for camp registrations and dealing with campus issues as they arise
- Delivering programming on-site and at different locations: may be required to run an off-site camp and stay overnight (Huron-Kinloss, Sarnia).
- Responsible for providing support to faculty or staff, and for effectively carrying out a variety of tasks in accordance with policies, procedures, and instructions received from their supervisor.
- Providing administrative support to the Outreach team as required
**Qualifications**
**Education**:
- College Diploma in a related field or relevant specialized courses or University Bachelors degree
**Experience**:
- Experience or demonstrated interest working with children/youth
- Experience working with under-represented children/youth, including Indigenous children/youth, a strong asset
- Demonstrated interest in science and engineering
**Skills, Abilities & Expertise**:
- Ability to follow processes with high attention to detail
- Presentation skills to deliver engaging and informative presentations that clearly explain information to audiences
- using appropriate communication channels
- Coordinate logistics for camp registrations and dealing with campus issues as they arise
- Ability to maintain a positive, outgoing attitude with genuine customer service orientation
- Ability to summarize information and disseminate to others effectively in a timely manner
- Organizational and multi-tasking skills to prioritize and consistently produce high-quality work
- Personable and courteous in working relationships with colleagues, students and the public
- Ability to work independently and effectively as a member of the team to achieve department goals
- Ability to work in a manner that is compliant with confidentiality requirements as applicable
- Proficient computer skills Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work within a flexible schedule to accommodate the University's events and activities, including evenings and weekends
- G license and access to a car is considered an asset
