We are currently hiring three different positions for General Maintenance due to long term teammates retirements - these are rare opportunities to join APL where you will work within a great team of reliable people and with a stable employer in the NOTL area.
ROLE SUMMARY
Responsible for efficient completion of related building checks, work orders, working efficiently and effectively with maintenance staff members in the operation of the maintenance department by always maintaining a safe and workable environment. This role does not require formal experience in a trade however the ideal person will be extremely comfortable dealing with small plumbing issues and have experience in building maintenance or drywall repairs and painting. We are looking for someone based primarily at Trius and another 2 people for our other properties - Wayne Gretzky Estates, Peller Estates and Riverbend Inn. During shifts you will have use of a company vehicle to travel as needed between properties.
SHIFTS
You will be scheduled Monday to Friday 7am-330pm and work overtime as needed or the odd weekend and holiday especially during harvest, seasonal summer or winter peak periods on estates. You will also need to be scheduled On Call 1 week per month.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for completing Work Orders and reviewing them with the supervisor.
- Responsible for completing requisitions for supplies, tools and spare parts.
- Works with supervisor to ensure all preventive maintenance is performed on schedule.
- Adheres to all Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Reports on equipment complete with recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Welding and fabrication.
- Maintain quality standards.
- Inspects and ensures work completed meets the requirements of Government Standards.
- Demonstrates excellent housekeeping abilities.
- Ensure safe working practices are adhered to and reports any unsafe practice to the maintenance supervisor
- Diagnose and make repairs and adjustments to plant equipment.
- Assures repairs of all property and equipment to company policy and Government regulations, reports any non-compliance’s to Maintenance Supervisor.

- Follows safe work procedures and practices and reports all unsafe working conditions / hazards to their reporting Manager.
- Act as a Back up for estate maintenance including operating Zamboni if needed during winter.

- Provided with the necessary tools and working area to perform repairs.
- May be required to work outdoors.
- Hours and days of work vary, and some overtime may be required

- The work environment may be noisy; some lifting may be required more than 20 kg.
- Prolonged standing will be required and walking within the plant and grounds environment.
