We are leaders in specialty coffee and as such our Barista’s and Mixologist are front line and an integral position here at Metropolis Mercantile + Café. Our Barista’s and Mixologist are part of our foundation and will lead to serve, grow, and excel when it comes to the caliber of coffee and cocktails we serve and the exceptional experience we create within our environment. We are looking for a high energy, outgoing person who can acclimate to a fast-paced environment. Strong multitasking abilities with excellent, friendly customer service.

**Responsibilities**

**Barista**
- Create an exceptional coffee “experience” for all customers. This includes presentation of drinks and baked goods, creating beautiful latte art, and ensuring consistency and high standards of every item that goes out.
- Help us continue to grow our café and uphold our reputation of our Third Wave coffee offerings.
- Ability to learn new recipes and help create seasonal drinks for customers
- Excellent customer service, greeting people with an upbeat energy and friendly demeanour.
- Ensure fluid teamwork to help with smooth and efficient workflow
- Bakery counter replenishment request / ensure stocked at all times based on inventory
- Helping with bussing, doing dishes, stock replenishment.
- Cleaning: Keeping the café clean, up to high standards and following detailed list for weekly and daily cleaning tasks. Including a rotating bathroom cleaning schedule.
- Problem solving is a must understands how to prioritize problems and challenges i.e. customers, café efficiency, flow and overall company priorities. Strong communication with leadership team.
- Food handlers and SMART serve required upon hiring

**Mixologist for The Cabin By Metropolis**

A Mixologist, also known as a bartender or cocktail specialist, is responsible for crafting and serving a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. This role goes beyond basic bartending and often involves creating unique and innovative cocktails, maintaining a well-stocked bar, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
- Change over from Day to night procedures (Cleaning, prepping, stocking, and preparing for the evening’s patrons
- Mixing and Serving Drinks

Prepare and serve a diverse range of beverages, including cocktails, spirits, wines, and non-alcoholic drinks.
Ensure the quality and consistency of all drinks served.
- Cocktail Creation:

- Help develop creative and unique cocktail recipes.Stay updated on current beverage trends and incorporate them into the drink menu when needed.
- Customer Service:
Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner.Provide recommendations and assistance in choosing drinks.
- Bar Maintenance:
Maintain a clean and organized bar area.Ensure proper stock levels of beverages, garnishes, and supplies.
- Knowledge of Ingredients:
Possess good working knowledge of various alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.Stay informed about the origins, flavors, and characteristics of different spirits and ingredients.
- Compliance with Regulations:
Adhere to all relevant laws and regulations related to alcohol service.Verify the age of customers to ensure legal drinking age compliance.
- Communication Skills:
Effectively communicate with customers, kitchen staff, and other team members.Take and process drink orders accurately and efficiently.Qualifications
- 1-2 years’ Experience
- Valid Smart Serve
- An asset if you have your Food Handlers Certificate

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $17.20-$17.50 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 30 per week
