Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centred clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

**Position Overview**:

- Reporting to the Section Head, the incumbent is responsible for creating and managing various financial/administrative processes including financial reporting, internal controls, cash flow management, billing and collections for the Dentists and management of the Dental Clinic operations. Provides support to the Clinic team for academic activities. Prepares financial analyses on an ongoing basis and assists with special projects. Will be required to register delinquent accounts with small claims court and attend court proceedings as required.

**Experience**:

- Minimum of three years recent accounting and finance experience in a computerized accounting environment required, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Collections experience preferred.
- Knowledge of and experience with dental billing software preferred.

**Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)**:

- Business/Accounting Certificate/Diploma from a recognized business college required.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) required.
- Knowledge of Access and PowerPoint an asset.
- Must have excellent communication skills, and be self motivated, naturally assertive and persuasive.
- Must have strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with Health Sciences Centre (HSC) and University of Manitoba (U of M) financial and educational systems an asset.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Must have the ability to deal with stressful situations arising from day-to-day responsibilities in meeting critical deadlines and in communicating with staff and customers (including patients and their families).
- Subject to interruptions, multiples priorities and tight deadlines.
- Will need to walk to U of M buildings etc.
- Constant use of computer terminals.
