The Mechanical Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing and enhancing productivity and efficiency with the construction projects undertaken by NAC across Canada. This role involves analyzing cost codes, workforce hours as it relates to each of NAC’s active projects in a macro and project specific view. As the Mechanical Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in fostering a culture of growth mindset and prioritizing people within our organization as it relates to the interactions with other operations and within the realm of mechanical.

**This role involves**:

- Proactive planning, monitoring and overseeing the construction, assembly, and integration of mechanical components and systems to ensure the successful completion of our projects.
- Providing practical guidance and support to all applicable employees and contractors as it relates to the mechanical division.
- Mentoring and empowering superintendents to proactively plan, forecast and provide them with the skills and tools needed to succeed while leveraging data-driven insights to optimize performance and decision-making.

Identify trends and inefficiencies in the field and provide insights and share strategies to optimize productivity and efficiency across various construction processes. As the Mechanical Operations Manager, you will be expected to:

- **People-First Approach**: Prioritize the well-being and professional growth of trade superintendents by providing mentorship, coaching, and support tailored to their individual needs and aspirations.
- **Problem Solving**: Identify and resolve construction-related issues, conflicts, and challenges in a timely and efficient manner, implementing corrective actions as needed to ensure project success.
- **Practical Information Sharing**: Share practical insights, best practices, and real-world examples with trade superintendents to equip them with actionable strategies for overcoming challenges and achieving success in their roles.
- **Data Analysis and Decision-Making**: Utilize data analysis techniques to gather insights into construction performance metrics, project outcomes, and operational efficiency. Make data-based decisions to optimize resource allocation, workflow processes, and project strategies.
- **Project Planning and Coordination**: Oversee trade superintendents, collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to develop and consult on:

- Estimates
- Construction plans and work packs
- Project schedules
- Monitor productivity and on-site production as it relates to cost codes and meeting or beating budgeted workforce hours for mechanical systems installation in wastewater treatment plants
- **Mechanical Construction and Constructability**:

- Oversee trade superintendents who are responsible to lead the installation and alignment of mechanical equipment and systems, including pumps, motors, valves, piping, and instrumentation, according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- **Construction Supervision & Productivity Management**:Mentor and oversee all mechanical trade superintendents. This includes:

- Oversight of construction activities to optimize productivity, minimize costs, and meet project deadlines
- **Quality Assurance**: Monitor quality control measures to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of mechanical installations, conducting inspections and audits as necessary. Quality focus which includes ensuring compliance with:

- Project specifications
- Safety regulations
- Quality standards
- **Resource Management**: Manage workforce resources, including:

- Crew management
- Forecasting project requirements
- Crew management: Hiring, development and performance management of tradespersons and hiring labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors, to optimize productivity, minimize costs, and meet project deadlines
- **HSE Leadership “Safety first mentality”**:Ensuring awareness, compliance and enforcing safety protocols and procedures to promote a safe work environment and prevent incidents, injuries, and occupational hazards during construction activities.
