Winnipeg, Canada Kindret Landscape Group Full time

The Kindret Landscape Group is a full service design, build and maintain firm specializing in commercial landscape operations. As we approach the start of the 2020 season we are looking to add an energetic Estimator/Design Assistant to our team.

This role will require strong organizational skills, clear communication, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of landscape construction practices. The Design Assistant/ Estimator will be responsible for providing residential and commercial estimates as well as general design proposals. This role will also include general project coordination responsibilities to support the Project Management Team.

**Duties and responsibilities**:

- Review, understand and evaluate tender documents and drawings.
- Visualize the work entailed, and prepare a detailed plan to execute work efficiently.
- Understand the principals involved in bid preparation including quantity take-off and closing procedures.
- Identify risks associated with contract documents.
- Adeptly calculate material, labour and equipment and to analyze quotes from sub-contractors and suppliers.
- Multitask, manage, and meet priorities and deadlines.
- Prepare schedules and track progress.
- Establish strong working relationships with client consultants, subcontractors and employees.
- Conduct all activities in a manner that protects the health and safety of all employees, trades, clients and visitors.
- Strong understanding in equipment used in landscaping projects (ex. loaders, skid steers, excavators).
- Highly effective negotiation, communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, MS Project) software
- A high level of proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking, listening).
- Have a diploma in Landscape Design, Engineering, Construction Management, or an acceptable combination of education and related experience, with a minimum 2 to 5 years estimating in related landscape projects.

**Work Details**:

- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40+ hours per week. Incidental evening and/or weekend hours will be required depending on company needs and weather. 3 weeks’ vacation (15 business days).

**Compensation**:
**Salary**: $55,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
