Job Title: Respite | Personal Support Worker

Location: Edmonton

Type: Full-time/Part-time

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Worker to work with youth and adults with developmental disabilities. As a Personal Support Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life of our clients by providing them with the support they need to achieve their goals and live as independently as possible.

**Responsibilities**:
Providing personal care and support to clients with developmental disabilities in their homes or at our respite facility

Implementing individualized support plans in collaboration with clients, their families, and other support team members

Assisting clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting

Helping clients with meal preparation, feeding, and nutrition management

Providing emotional and behavioral support to clients, helping them to manage challenging behaviors and develop coping strategies

Facilitating client participation in community activities and events

Administering medication and performing other medical tasks as required by clients' care plans

Documenting client progress and reporting any concerns to appropriate supervisors

**Requirements**:
Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; relevant post-secondary education preferred

At least 2 years of relevant experience working with youth and adults with developmental disabilities or other caring responsibilities

CPR certification

Knowledge of best practices in disability support and care

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Flexibility in scheduling and availability to work weekends, evenings and holidays as required

Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
