CASUAL/ON-CALL FOR VACATION & SICK TIME RELIEF POSITION

Job Title: Casual Receptionist

Job Summary:
The primary purpose of the receptionist is to greet and assist clients in face-to-face interactions or by telephone, serving as the first point of contact at either Agassiz-Harrison Community Services. The receptionist also completes administrative tasks as required by the Executive Director and other staff.

Qualifications: Grade 12 education or equivalent and office administration training and/or a combination of related education and experience.

Job Skills and Abilities:

- Must possess professional and sound judgement regarding confidential and sensitive information.
- Empathy, compassion, and the ability to problem solve and respond appropriately in different situations.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities concurrently and work independently with strong time management and organization skills.
- Strong collaborative skills and proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with all internal and external contacts.
- Ability to pay attention to detail and maintain a focus on producing a quality product in a timely manner.
- Well-developed interpersonal verbal and written communication skills and ability to clearly explain instructions to others.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to a team environment.
- Comfortable working and interacting with clients, volunteers, donors, and community members.
- Basic understanding of nonprofit organizations

**Responsibilities**:
2. Greets and assists clients, donors, volunteers, and members of the public with respect and empathy.

3. Assists walk-in clients with completing the brief intake form and makes appropriate referrals to staff members, if required.

4. Maintains a thorough knowledge of community resources to serve clients’ needs. Answers questions as required.

5. Ensures that reception and other common areas (kitchens, meeting rooms, etc.) are maintained in a clean and tidy manner.

6. Participates in staff professional development, training, supervision and administrative meetings and monthly staff meetings as scheduled.

7. To perform other work-related duties as may be assigned.

Police Information Check (PIC)

Pay rate per hour: $22.27
