Grande Cache, Canada CST Coal Full time

The Heavy Equipment Operator (HEO) (Haul Truck, Dozer, Grader, Excavator, Loader, Drill, Shovel) is directly accountable to the Mine Operations Foreman

**RESPONSIBILITIES & PERFORMANCE STANDARDS**
- Operate all heavy equipment in a safe and efficient way, conforming to all relevant legislation, policies, operating manuals and standard operating procedures.
- Ensure that equipment is maintained in keeping with production targets.
- Troubleshoot problems, perform minor maintenance as required, and notify the supervisor of any mechanical or production issues throughout the shift.
- Complete daily reports and time sheets as required.
- Notify the supervisor immediately of any incident or near-miss and participate in any resulting investigation
- Perform daily safety and maintenance checks as required.
- **_No camp available, you are required to hold residence, on some level, in the town of Grande Cache for the duration of your work rotation._**

**QUALIFICATIONS**

Education, Experience and Qualifications
- Some high school education is required, a grade 12 diploma or GED is preferred.

Minimum 2 years' experience in an open pit mining environment operating at least one of the following:

- Haul Truck: Operating Komatsu 830E, 777 haul trucks or similar equipment. The similarity will be determined by CST; or
- Dozer: Operating Caterpillar D10T, D11T tracked dozers, or similar equipment. The similarity will be determined by CST; or
- Grader: Operating Caterpillar, 16H, 16M, 24M graders or similar equipment. The similarity will be determined by CST; or
- Loader: Operating Caterpillar 988 or similar equipment. The similarity will be determined by CST; or
- Excavator: Operating Hitachi, 870, 1200, or similar equipment. The similarity will be determined by CST; or
- Shovel: Operating Komatsu PC3000, Hitachi EX3600, EX5500, P&H 2800 Electric Shovel, or similar equipment. The similarity will be determined by CST; or
- Any combination of the above equipment

Note:
HEO 4 - Employees without prior qualifications (experience, demonstrated knowledge and abilities) will enter the HEO 4 classification. Employees will initially receive training on safety and emergency procedures and will learn and become proficient on haulage truck operation.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

The following knowledge, skills and abilities are expected:

- Must be able to work 12-hour day and night shifts; on a 7x7 rotation.
- Must be able to communicate in English
- Physically fit with the ability to perform physical labour often at heights.
- Proven safety and attendance record.
- Willingness to learn
- Ability and willingness to work in all weather conditions.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with peers, trainees, and leadership.
- Knowledge of safety procedures/standards.
- Knowledge of coal production and equipment operation processes.
- Knowledge of basic equipment maintenance requirements
- Knowledge of Safety Data Sheets.
- Knowledge of Basic First Aid and WHMIS.

Wages and Benefits
- $32.22- $44.47 per hour
- Benefits include paid vacation, 6% RRSP matching, and extended healthcare and dental coverage
- $500 per year Fitness Benefit.
- Annual $450 Boot and Clothing Allowance.
- $500 per month LOA
