Overview:
After the initial success of our our grand opening the kitchen team here at Saxe Point Public House is seeking to add a few skilled Line & Prep cooks Cooks to join our team in Esquimalt's new and exciting neighborhood gastro pub. As a Cook, you will be responsible for meal preparation and ensuring high-quality food service in our restaurant kitchen. If you have a passion for cooking and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you.

**Duties**:

- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, proteins and other food products
- Cook menu items in accordance with recipes and portion control guidelines
- Follow food safety and handling procedures to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient meal preparation
- Monitor food stock levels and communicate any shortages or discrepancies to the Executive or Sous Chefs
- Assist with the plating and presentation of dishes to ensure they meet our quality standards
- Maintain knowledge of current menu items, specials, and promotions
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding food preparation, sanitation, and safety

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience as a cook in a similar role within the food service industry is preferred
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with other kitchen staff members
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Menu input and feature sheet in put is welcomed and encouraged

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

- Secondary School (preferred)

- Cooking: 2 years (preferred)
