Kettleby Contracting is an established Contractor, providing services for commercial and residential developers throughout the GTA. Kettleby Contracting has operated for over 35 years and is based out of Thornton Ontario. This position is a year round opportunity. The applicant must be willing to work Monday to Friday (including some Saturdays during peak season) in the area spanning east to Clarington, south and west to Niagara, and north to Orillia. Although the majority of our projects are dependent on seasonal conditions, we do offer services year-round. This position is available to motivated, organized, self-sufficient, problem-solving leaders with a minimum of 5 years experience in the Landscape Construction field. Requirements are as follows:

- Experience leading a crew in the field to complete a variety of landscape construction tasks such as excavation, grading, installing retaining walls, unit pavers and concrete, planting and others
- Experience planning, executing and managing labour and equipment and coordinating of material deliveries
- Strong ability to document progress and provide written records.
- Excellent understanding of grading and layout
- Experience operating equipment such as excavators, skid steers, chainsaws, quick-cuts, pumps, compactors, laser levels, measuring equipment
- Good understanding of Occupational Health and Safety Act to ensure a safe working environment
- Excellent understanding of landscape materials for both hardscape and softscape installations
- Must possess a valid G license

Primary Responsibilities
- Manage safety and cleanliness of job site Layout of job site
- Quality control
- Liaise with project managers, owners, developers and their representatives to generate scope of work or changes thereto
- Accept a scope of work from the project managers/estimators/owners, and based on scope of work, determine appropriate courses of action to effectively execute and achieve end state
- Prepare job sites and coordinate for arrival of materials, equipment and labour
- Assign tasks to crew members and subcontractors to efficiently accomplish scope of work
- Provide onsite orientation and training to new employees
- Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment
- Assist in the completion of landscape construction tasks
- Tracking of time and materials used to assist with preparation of billing summaries
- Forward pertinent information to senior management
- Recommend improvements to increase productivity and safety

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $80,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
