GreenFirst is looking for a bilingual Health and Safety Manager to provide a key leadership role in enhancing health and safety in the workplace through the development, implementation, delivery, evaluation and engagement of employees in injury prevention and health promotion strategies. This position provides enterprise level consultative support to company executives, management, safety personnel and front-line employees at GreenFirst, on all health, safety and training related matters. The incumbent manages all aspects of Worker’s Compensation claims for operations nationally, including billing, facilitation of return to work and providing guidance on injury management.

**Responsibilities**:

- Has the authority and responsibility to maintain a safe and efficient working environment
- Accountable for development and monitoring of GreenFirst Health & Safety programs
- Oversee, approve, and/or participate in incident investigations as appropriate
- Oversee management of Workers’ Compensation and CNESST claims
- Monitor and ensure changes to legislative requirements are communicated and make changes to programs and training as required
- Accountable for oversight of regulatory compliance to health and safety legislation
- Lead the development/revision of policies, work standards, procedures, employee safety booklet and other guidance documents
- Represent and promote the Safety Department internally and externally with stakeholder, various health and safety associations and committees, and others

**Knowledge Required**:

- Deliver effective results, meet tight deadlines and targets
- Experience in safety systems monitoring techniques, exposure controls and analysis of data
- Presentation techniques and group facilitation skills, learning evaluation techniques
- Skilled and competent in safety auditing

**Requirements**:

- Diploma/Certificate in Safety, Occupational Health or related field.
- 10 years’ experience in health and safety capacity, preferred Manufacturing, Forestry, Saw and Paper mills
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or working toward
- Bilingual French and English
- Train the Trainer

GreenFirst est à la recherche d’un(e) gestionnaire bilingue en santé et sécurité qui jouera un rôle de premier plan dans l’amélioration de la santé et de la sécurité en milieu de travail par l’élaboration, la mise en œuvre, la prestation, l’évaluation et l’engagement des employés dans des stratégies de prévention des blessures et de promotion de la santé. Le titulaire de ce poste fournit un soutien consultatif au niveau de l’entreprise aux cadres de la société, à la direction, au personnel de sécurité et aux employés de première ligne de GreenFirst, sur toutes les questions liées à la santé, à la sécurité et à la formation. Le titulaire du poste gère tous les aspects des demandes d’indemnisation des accidents du travail pour les opérations à l’échelle nationale, y compris la facturation, la facilitation du retour au travail et la fourniture de conseils sur la gestion des blessures.

**Responsabilités**:

- A l’autorité et la responsabilité de maintenir un environnement de travail sûr et efficace.
- Responsable du développement et du suivi des programmes de santé et de sécurité de GreenFirst.
- Superviser, approuver et/ou participer aux enquêtes sur les incidents, le cas échéant.
- Superviser la gestion des demandes d’indemnisation des travailleurs et de la CNESST.
- Surveiller et s’assurer que les modifications des exigences législatives sont communiquées et apporter des changements aux programmes et à la formation, le cas échéant.
- Assurer la surveillance de la conformité aux lois sur la santé et la sécurité.
- Diriger l’élaboration et la révision des politiques, des normes de travail, des procédures, du livret de sécurité des employés et d’autres documents d’orientation.
