**Summary**
Slegg Building Materials is currently seeking a Full-Time Forklift Operator to join our team. The shifts are Tuesday - Friday 9:15am - 5:45pm, Saturday 8:15am - 5:15pm. We offer a competitive compensation package with benefits starting after 3 months and employee incentives.

**Responsibilities**
- Act as an ambassador of the company with all employees and customers
- Maintain an emphasis on a safety culture, customer service, and efficiency as top priorities
- Perform daily inspections of forklift and complete required forms
- Ensure forklift maintenance and servicing requirements are met
- Build orders to required specifications for delivery
- Load and unload building materials in a safe and efficient manner
- Check load contents for accuracy and secure materials
- Ensure that all products are shipped on schedule and according to specific instructions by management to meet customer demands
- Maintain contact with supervisor(s) and work to resolve issues as they arise
- Other duties as assigned by management
**Requirements**:
- A broad knowledge of building supplies
- Forklift experience is essential
- Effective communication skills and ability to read and speak English
- Knowledge of basic mathematics
- Basic hand tool skills
- Physical requirements include:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs
- Sitting and driving for longs periods of time
- Frequently climbing up and down stairs
- A positive can do attitude is essential
**The Location - Cumberland, 3217 Small Rd**
Cumberland is located in the Comox Valley on the east coast of Vancouver Island, approximately 2.5 hours from Victoria and 1.5 hours from Nanaimo. With many beaches, rivers, and lakes; Mt.
