We are currently recruiting for the role of Production Planner. This position reports to the Paper Mill Superintendent and coordinates the scheduling of both regular production and trial production while balancing interests and needs of the Production, Sales and Transportation departments. Responsibilities & Duties of the Production Planner: Scheduling and communication of the paper machine production schedule. Oversee, coordinate, and balance the needs of the Production, Sales, and Transportation departments. Oversee paper customer concern resolution, documentation, and credit. Coordinate mill response to sales quality and inquiry requests. Identify and highlight customer concern trends to the Production and Technical groups. Ensure grade development trial plans and production runs are coordinated. Manage and develop product specification sheets. Analyze production data to identify trends and make recommendations to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Manage system requirements for new grades and customer process/workflow optimization. Tracking and communication of KPIs, such as trim and core waste, cull losses, variances in production vs. budget, and customer concerns. Lead or alternate lead for Mill communication and Sales/Transportation team meetings. What you will bring to the role: Incredible attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills that keep the interests of all stakeholders balanced. Willingness to be on-call/reachable after hours and on weekends, as required. Appetite for learning and desire to process improve along the way. Ability to envision, propose and negotiate production scheduling that minimizes waste and losses, yet meets targets. Have the aptitude and drive to envision beneficial change and lead it through to completion. Basic understanding of paper mill production and/or general manufacturing is desired, but not required.
