The role of a junior building mechanical designer involves collaborating with other designers, technologists, CAD managers, and architects to successfully deliver design and construction of building system projects for commercial, healthcare, multi-residential, industrial and institutional facilities. Reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Manager you will design mechanical systems and produce deliverables during conceptual design, detailed design and construction documentation. More senior staff will provide this position with extensive supervision and guidance.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Produce deliverables to illustrate conceptual, schematic and detailed design including models, diagrams and sketches.
- Produce graphic material for diagrams, isometrics and sketches of building mechanical components intended for design brief reports, presentation material, brochures, etc.
- Participate in the production of mechanical construction drawing sets, receiving direction from more senior mechanical staff.
- Preparing and drafting CAD drawings using AutoCAD and Revit
- Organizing and maintaining a design and CAD digital file database for each project
by the project engineer or project manager
- Preparing permit and detailed design of conceptual plan provided by the Engineer
- Review blueprints, plans, specifications, and other customer documentation as requested
- Adhere to company/client CAD/REVIT standards for all production drawings
- Maintain notes, design calculations and other documentation for future reference.

- Graduated from a post-secondary institution with a degree/ diploma in Building Engineering Technology or equivalent training
- Worked extensively with two-dimensional drafting software for production of drawings such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.
- Working knowledge of applicable Building Codes, and relevant NFPA, ASHRAE and CSA standards
- Experience in the design and engineering of HVAC, controls, plumbing and drainage, fire protection and life safety systems
- Excellent interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to thrive in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment
- Ability to set high personal goals and work independently
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks
- Ability to make recommendation to effectively resolve problems or issues
- Proficient with MS Office Suite, AutoCAD, and Revit software
- Ability to learn new procedures, skills, software and tools required to perform the work.

- 2+ years of relevant work experience.
- Assisted construction administration tasks with documents such as RFIs shop drawings, samples, site instructions, site visits, change orders, bill of materials, cost estimates, etc.
- Has performed design coordination with other disciplines in the production of conceptual,
