**Your future duties and responsibilities**
- Provide expert advice, guidance and knowledge sharing in middle-tier domain, and implement middle-tier solutions.
- Lead all middle-tier initiatives required for platform maintenance and evolution.
- Responsible for the maintenance and setup of on-premise and cloud environments - including provision of servers, configuration of operating system, and install and configuration of middleware software and services.
- Assist with client implementation, software deployments and packaging deliverables as required. Monitor system performance based on service-level agreements and ensure that they are met.
- Restore services as soon as possible; participate in root-cause analysis, develop and implement permanent solutions to problems, and establish mechanisms to monitor, track, and report on service levels using metrics.
- Provide on-call support as needed for critical issues.
- Ensure consistency with best practices.
- Take ownership and responsibility for resolution of middleware-related technical issues.
- Identify and document technology specific standards.
- Responsible for monitoring of the middle-tier standards.
- Maintain documentation, be active in continuous improvement and knowledge sharing with colleagues.
- Conduct research into leading-edge solutions, monitor technology development and industry trends, and take the lead in evaluating new services and techniques
- Share technological trends and recommendations with colleagues, other domain architects and management.
- Develop middle-tier software policies and standards

**Required qualifications to be successful in this role**
- A minimum of three years of recent work experience in middle-tier administration.
- Experience building and maintaining Linux Server and Windows Servers VMs.
- Experience with Linux/UNIX administration, with preference for Red Hat.
- Strong analytic and problem-solving skills with the ability to gather information and to make sound decisions when giving advice or making recommendations.
- Strong ability to deliver results under limited supervision, to follow a general work plan, check progress, report deviations, identify issues and seek guidance as appropriate.
- Ability to be flexible and logical, and to solve problems creatively.
- Ability to work on call and/or overtime, work on multiple concurrent projects, support high-visibility middle-tier components, work under stressful conditions, organize workload to accommodate changing priorities while still meeting deadlines, maintain a high level of accuracy and ensure proper follow-through.
- Strong skills in data-management practices and systems-development disciplines.
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience with technical data-management and systems tools.

CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors including but not limited to skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licensure and certifications. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range in British Columbia is $75,500 - $125,500.
