**Salary**: $3,147.32 to $4,235.37 bi-weekly ($82,145 - $110,543 / year)

**Role Responsibilities**:
As the Manager, Traffic Safety and Research, you will support the department to meet its traffic safety goals and strategic priorities through leadership of diverse programs and functions.

This position develops strategic and tactical plans for traffic safety reporting and overseeing development and maintenance of dashboards, metadata and data/information systems. The Manager also ensures the efficiency, effectiveness and integrity of traffic safety data for release to internal and external clients.

This position directs the work of professional staff to meet department data and reporting requirements. The position provides rigorous, high quality data, research, evaluation and analytics to executive and senior management, program delivery to enable data-driven, evidence-informed strategic decision-making for the purposes of strategic planning, policy development, evaluation, continuous improvement, forecasting, legislated reporting, service design and delivery as well as financial and human resource allocation.
- Your responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Leads a professional team responsible for the design, development and delivery of timely, accurate, comprehensive and transparent reports that analyze business functions and key operations as well as provides insights into traffic safety performance
- Works with the Traffic Safety Services management team in the development, implementation and ongoing oversight of new model governance frameworks and supervisory tools for governing predictive analytics, machine learning and artificial intelligence
- Liaises and coordinates with divisions across Transportation and Economic Corridors to ensure a fully integrated approach to business performance and analytics, enabling the division and government policy to be more data-centric in their decision-making when related to tax and revenue
- Leads the development of automated reporting dashboards leveraging various internal and external data sources and works in consultation with key internal and external stakeholders to enable evidence-based and outcome-focused decisions
- Oversees daily operations of Business Intelligence and Analytics staff and establishes target criteria for work volume including deliverables and ensures priority targets are met
- Overall responsibility for performance management of all assigned staff within the group
- Planning and cross divisional/ ministry support
- Negotiating and exchanging information with enforcement agencies regarding data components and police procedures

A Bachelor's Degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering or related field involving quantitative research methodologies, data management to provide direction to management and professional staff conducting advanced statistical analysis design and reporting supplemented by four years related experience. Related experience or education may be considered as an equivalency on a one year of education for one year of experience or vise versa.

Experience utilizing leadership, organization and planning skills supplemented by experience in client relations is required.
