**Introduction**:
This position is a unique opportunity to contribute to public policy development and advocacy efforts for one of Canada’s largest industries. Reporting to the Associate Vice-President, Public Affairs and Industry Practices, you will be a core member of the Public Affairs team and will engage in the development and execution of CCA’s government relations and public policy strategic objectives.

**About**:
The Canadian Construction Association (CCA) is the national voice for Canada’s construction industry, which employs close to 1.6 million Canadians and accounts for 7.4% of our GDP.

**Responsibilities**:

- Monitor and analyse political and public policy events and trends impacting the industry, as well as relevant legislation and regulations.
- In collaboration with the communications team, create and contribute to publications, reports, presentations, and briefing documents, related to CCA’s public affairs.
- In collaboration with the Events team, organize and manage opportunities for CCA to engage with the federal government and government officials.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the government relations strategy and annual plan, in accordance with the Strategic Plan.
- Comply with policies, legislation, regulations, and other legal requirements, and manage CCA’s lobbying registration.
- Support the Public Affairs team in the successful achievement of their goals and objectives.

**Qualifications**:

- Undergraduate degree in political science, public administration or other relevant areas of study.
- 1 to 3 years of work or volunteer experience in politics, public policy or government relations.
- Graduate degree in political management or public policy is considered a strong asset.
- Experience in government relations, political offices or political campaigns an asset.
- Bilingualism an asset (French/English)

**Skills and knowledge**:

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Superior legislative, regulatory and policy analysis skills.
- Advanced knowledge of the federal government and the legislative Process.
- Knowledge of Canada’s advocacy and lobbying rules and best practices.

**Salary range: $**52,500 - $60,000
