Childcare Aide

**Role and Responsibilities**:

- Prepare and make the kids’ afterschool snack while they are on route to the Centre, in time for student’s arrival.
- Deliver snack to each of the group.
- Collect garbage and any duties related to cleaning up from snack.
- Assist with clean-up of activities.
- Assist group with behaviour management and provide support to program leads as necessary.
- Participate in activities and be a good role model for staff and students.
- Have a positive attitude.

**Qualifications**:

- Previous experience with working with children, or studying a related field i._e. education or psychology _is preferred_._
- Previous experience working in a kitchen or food service industry considered an asset.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- G Class licence considered an asset.

**Working Conditions**:

- This is a part-time position, typically in the afternoon or early evening, as well as PD days for Halton and Hamilton-Wentworth school districts.
- The role may require occasional weekends for training.
- The work environment includes a kitchen, classroom, and other designated aftercare spaces within Laureate College
- May include working outside (weather permitting).
- Potential to transition into a bigger role as the Centre grows.

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: $15.50-$21.32 per hour
