We are seeking a Support Worker provide childcare and supervision for a home in Davidson.
**Applicants must be available Thursday between 3pm-9pm and Saturday between 11am-7pm.**
As the Childcare Worker your role is to support youth residing in a Foster Home with developing age appropriate life skills and healthy boundaries. The applicant must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Supervise and monitor the safety of youth
- Model positive behaviors
- Organize and participate in recreational activities which include physical sports and activities
- swimming, soccer, basketball, walks, etc.
- Assist children with homework as required
- Support the emotional and social development of youth
- Perform basic housekeeping duties as required
- Transport youth to extra curricular, appointments as needed

Education
- Minimum High School Diploma; Post Secondary education in early childhood education is considered an asset Experience
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- 2 years of relevant experience working with children or youth with challenging behaviors
- Criminal Record Check inclusive of Vulnerable Sector Check
- Must have Valid Driver’s License

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Effective organizational skills including time management, the ability to think clearly and logically, to problem solve effectively, and the ability to function with mínimal supervision
- Maintain a high degree of professionalism regarding demeanor, dress, language, communication, and boundaries with co-workers, Foster Parents or Caregivers
- Have a high level of interpersonal and communication skills for team collaboration
- Effective, respectful, and professional written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable with and ability to remain calm during high stress situations
- Impeccable working relationships and knowledge of partnering agencies
- Ensuring personal self-care routines relating to mental, emotional, and physical health
