Camp Attendant

**Location**: Cochrane Area

Since 1985, Universal Rehabilitation Service Agency, URSA, has been a Calgary based non-profit agency that works to meet the needs of individuals with disabilities, brain injury and complex medical needs in community settings.

Our 24-bed Retreat Centre is north of Cochrane and provides the opportunity for people with disabilities to have an affordable vacation. In order to do this, URSA rents the Centre to external parties to be able to subsidize the costs for individuals with disabilities who do not have the ability to pay for a vacation. As the Camp Attendant, you will be responsible for all aspects of the operation of our Retreat Centre for both internal and external guests.

As the Camp Attendant, a typical day might include:

- Greet each booking with service excellence in mind, ensuring that all members of the group are orientated to site and safety procedures.
- Check in with user groups daily throughout their visit to ensure that their needs are being met to the best of our ability.
- Build relationships with individuals with disabilities and URSA staff, ensuring their vacation is a memorable one
- Prepare and follow a menu providing wholesome, well-balanced camp-style meals that incorporates all safe food handling guidelines.
- Organizing meal preparation, inventory and ordering of supplies ensuring accuracy of deliveries against the invoices.
- Cleans and sanitizes the Centre after bookings, ensuring that all health and safety practices are implemented.
- Launder all linens after bookings for up to 24 beds per booking.
- Check the Retreat Centre’s booking calendar daily and make note of any changes.
- Completes regular maintenance of property, including gardening, property inspections, and organization of garbage removal, grass cutting and snow removal in anticipation of user groups.
- Liaises with external contractors as needed to ensure the facility is maintained to the highest standards.
- Completes weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance items.
- Ensures all paperwork and written correspondence are completed to a high level of competency and submitted within the agreed upon timelines, including checklists and financial reconciliation documents.
- Complete water testing, water temperature testing and facility walk throughs and as per URSA policy.
- Communicates with URSA when regular tasks are completed and looks for other duties that will enhance the Center.

You Have:

- Experience working in the hospitality industry and cooking for large groups.
- Safe Food Handling Certificate and Standard First Aid and CPR.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule depending on the bookings.
- Ability to stand for long hours, climb stairs and lift items up to 50 lbs.
- Clear Police and Child Welfare screening checks.
- Class 5 Driver’s License and a reliable vehicle.
- Have a proactive nature and self-starting ability, coupled with talent to adapt interpersonal skills to build relationships internally and externally.
- Are a team player with strong leadership and management skills which include superior communication and the demonstrated ability to create a positive culture.

**Salary**: $4,000.00-$5,000.00 per month

- 12 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Weekends as needed
