The City of Mission is looking for an experienced Head Technician, who is passionate about supporting the artistic and production functions of the theatre, to supervise the operations of the theatre and other related City venues. This is a one-year term position and is available immediately.

An integral role in the Clarke Theatre and the community, you will be responsible for supervising and performing the technical operations of the Clarke Theatre, Heritage Park Centre, and other City venues, including theatre lighting, sound, rigging, video projection and related equipment and systems. You will work closely with the Operations Manager, Clarke Theatre to support renters, user groups, creators, and artists, who use the facility, as well as with City staff in assisting other departments within the city when required.

You are a dedicated theatre practitioner, with an interest in supporting the artistic and production functions of the Clarke Theatre. You enjoy working in a fast-paced, artistically engaging, and collaborative work environment.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, Clarke Theatre, you will be responsible for:

- Assisting with recruiting, training and supervising technical staff and student volunteers;
- Supervising the use and operations of all aspects of the stage;
- Determining and coordinating the staff and technical resources/supports required for each event and ensuring these are available;
- Operating and maintaining the technical assets of the theatre, performing or arranging repairs or replacements;
- Maintaining inventory;
- Ensuring client requirements are met in a timely manner, resolving technical problems for the client, ensuring performances and events go smoothly, ensuring safe use of the facility.
- Ensuring the safety of theatre users and staff and the safe operation of theatre equipment;
- Liaising with theatre users to assist in the planning of successful events, providing technical advice and assistance for major productions.

**Qualifications**:
You will have the ability to effectively supervise crews and volunteers, and to communicate clearly and concisely and have the motivation and willingness to show initiative. You must also have sufficient strength and stamina to perform the strenuous work required and are capable of working at heights.

**Additional Information**:
The hourly rate is $35 plus 6% in lieu of benefits. You will work 35 hours per week, which may vary according to the needs of the Theatre. Overtime will be handled on a time bank system.
