Maintain daily service operations in _Bistro on Prince _restaurant and in the Banquet Department to ensure quality standards are met while delivering a guest experience that is unique and brings the Inn on Prince brand to life.

As Food & Beverage Porter, it is of utmost importance to foster a spirit of teamwork while ensuring the department provides superior customer service to hotel employees and guests alike.

**_Duties and Responsibilities_**

PEOPLE
- Conduct service and quality standards.
- Be prepared to be available when the hotel is busy and when the department is short-staffed.
- Attend employee meetings.
- Ensure hotel management is informed of all unusual problems or matters of significance.
- Maintain excellent communication with all departments in the hotel.
- Conduct written follow up on repairs with the Maintenance Department as soon as possible.

GUEST EXPERIENCE
- Provide guests with prompt service, professional attention and personal recognition.
- Ensure guests are greeted upon arrival and make time to interact effectively with guests. Respond appropriately to guest complaints, solicit feedback and build relationships to drive continuous improvement in guest satisfaction.
- Ensure all food and beverage equipment are in proper operational condition and are cleaned on a regular basis; ensure that all facilities are cleaned, vacuumed and properly stocked according to anticipated business volume.
- Maintain guest/ employee confidentiality.

RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS
- Must be willing to work shifts and weekends. Must be able to work rapidly during busy periods while remaining calm and professional.
- Read, maintain and follow-up on daily logbook entries.
- Follow shift checklists to ensure all duties are completed in a timely manner.
- Assist in conducting proper food & beverage inventory procedures, maintaining and ordering supplies and equipment in a timely and efficient manner while minimizing waste and maintaining ‘green’ initiatives (example: recycling and cleaning agents).
- Maintain safe working conditions within the Food & Beverage Department and the hotel; adhere to company policies regarding WHMIS, OH&S and fire drills and be aware of the action taken in the event of an emergency (such as fire, flood, bomb threat, etc) as per the SOP Manual
- Contribute to the security of the building, company assets and guest/co-worker safety by reporting of suspicious persons and handling of keys/cash as appropriate to the position.
- Be proactive and anticipate what needs to be prepped for the week of events, reservations, in-house guests, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 25 per week

**Salary**: $14.50 per hour
