Maintenance Worker

Reports To: YWCA Facilities Manager

**Responsibilities**:
Full - Time maintenance workers are assigned to regular maintenance tasks and additional projects that may arise. They will support the maintenance team as required.
Qualifications:
- Experience in human services, supported housing, or with persons with disabilities/addictions;
- Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture;
- Driver’s license;
- Vehicle;
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal);
- Computer skills;
- Must pass Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check;
- Excellent time management skills;
- Positive leadership qualities;
- Team player;
- Minimum 2 years maintenance or maintenance related experience;
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, dry - walling and painting;
- Ability to work independently;
Remuneration: $53, 060 (Salary)

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with Facilities Manager and/or Housing Operations Supervisor and maintenance staff to complete maintenance projects in a timely, cost - effective manner;
- Report any concerns to Facilities Manager ASAP;
- Be available on a rotation for on-call
- Be available to respond to after - hours’ maintenance issues on requested days;
- Be aware of emergency procedures in the event of the need for building evacuations;
- Have a working knowledge of fire alarm systems, water and electrical shut - offs;
- Notify appropriate individuals (on - call staff, Supervisor, Manager) of any prolonged utility shut - offs;
Probation: All YWCA Prince Albert positions contain a three - month probation period.
