As a Mechanical Quality Assurance Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of our client's hydrogen liquefaction plant. Working closely with the engineering, construction, and operations teams, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining quality assurance processes throughout the project lifecycle. Your expertise will be instrumental in achieving compliance with regulatory standards, meeting project specifications, and delivering superior performance.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement quality assurance procedures, protocols, and inspection plans specific to mechanical systems within the hydrogen liquefaction plant.
- Conduct thorough inspections, audits, and evaluations of mechanical equipment, components, and systems to verify compliance with design specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to review design documents, technical drawings, and specifications to identify potential quality issues and ensure adherence to project requirements.
- Perform risk assessments and root cause analyses to identify and mitigate quality and safety hazards.
- Coordinate and oversee non-destructive testing (NDT), pressure testing, and other inspection activities to validate the integrity and reliability of mechanical systems.
- Document and maintain accurate records of quality assurance activities, inspection results, and compliance documentation.
- Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, contractors, and suppliers to resolve quality-related issues and implement corrective actions.
- Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and change management processes to ensure alignment with quality objectives and project milestones.

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control roles, with a focus on mechanical systems and equipment in industrial, energy, or petrochemical facilities.
- Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles, codes, standards, and best practices applicable to the design, fabrication, and installation of pressure vessels, piping systems, heat exchangers, compressors, and related equipment.
- Experience with quality management systems (ISO 9001), regulatory requirements (ASME, CSA, API), and industry standards related to mechanical integrity and inspection (API 510, API 570, API 653, ASME B31.3).
- CWB certification essential.
- Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents. Familiarity with CAD software and inspection tools is an asset.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify quality issues, perform root cause analyses, and develop effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
