**Position Title: Clerk - Diagnostic Imaging**

**Position Status: Temporary Part Time** - Approximately 18 months***

**Rate of Pay**:$**22.96 - $24.37 hourly (2020 Rate)**

**Primary Duties and Responsibilities**
- Perform routine and confidential typing, transcription dictation and subsequent handling and communication of

information for Diagnostic Services and OBSP.
- Perform central registration of patient information into the Hospital Information System.
- Perform bookings for all Imaging modalities.
- Represent the organization and department in a professional manner at all times in keeping with Norfolk General

Hospital’s mission and values.

**Position Qualifications**:

- Graduate of a recognized college level Medical Administrative Program or equivalent which includes medical

terminology.
- Excellent keyboarding skills with a typing speed of at least 60 WPM.
- Minimum 3 years of experience typing/transcribing medical reports.
- Excellent working knowledge of Windows based systems with skills in Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Previous experience with hospital information system, Meditech preferred.
- Excellent customer relations and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with patients and all disciplines.
- Ability to work well with frequent interruptions and manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to work closely and collaborate with other professional and non-professional staff and physicians.
- Excellent attendance.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient rights and patient partnered care in alignment with NGH mission, vision,

values and strategic plan.

**Hours of Work**:
Must be available to work shifts, weekends and holidays as required.
